ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join Friends of Plumas Wilderness and partners Plumas National Forest- Mt. Hough Ranger District, Plumas Corporation & Sierra Nevada Alliance for the 2024 Great Sierra River Cleanup.
EVENT DETAILS :
We’ll gather at the Friends of Plumas Wilderness offices at 9am where PNF staff will brief us on the plan for the day before carpooling down to Oakland Camp to begin the cleanup effort.
When: Saturday, September 21st beginning at 9am. Participants will meet up at Friends of Plumas Wilderness offices (546 Lawrence Street) 9am where we’ll go over safety and our plan for the day before heading out to Oakland Camp.
Where: Meet at FoPW offices (546 Lawrence St.) at 9am, then we’ll carpool to Oakland Camp for the cleanup.
What to bring: to wear weather appropriate clothing, close t0ed shoes, a hat and sunscreen to protect themselves while outdoors. Please also bring water (refills will be available) and snacks. Cleanup supplies (gloves, trashbags) will be provided.

Bucks Lake Wilderness
ABOUT THE EVENT:
This Public Lands Day, we’re rolling up our sleeves to show some love to Bucks Lake Wilderness, along with our partners from Plumas National Forest and Backcountry Horsemen & Women.
DETAILS:
Participants will have the option to choose their own activity for Public Lands Day by helping contribute either to clearing trail of chaparral, resetting the sign at Rock Lake, or helping to collect burned electric fencing damaged by wildfire.
When: Saturday, September 28th (Public Lands Day!) beginning at 9am.
Participants will meet up at Silver Lake Campground 9am where they’ll meet activity leads before heading out for the day.
Where: Meet up at Silver Lake Campground, stewardship events to take place in Bucks Lake Wilderness
What to bring: Please wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes, bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, a sack lunch and snacks for the day. Tools will be provided.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join Friends of Plumas Wilderness & Lost Sierra Fly Guide Sunday, October 6th to help remnant coal from the February 2024 train derailment along the Middle Fork Feather River.
DETAILS:
We’ll be picking up coal that has washed ashore along the Middle Fork Feather River with Lost Sierra Fly Guide.
When: Sunday, October 6th beginning at 9am.
We’ll meet up at 9am and go over the plan for the day before breaking into groups. Expect the cleanup to last until about 4pm.
Where: We’ll meet up at 39.859208, -120.725196 near Sloat to park before breaking out into groups for the day.
What to bring: Please wear weather appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes, bring a hat, sunscreen, water, a sack lunch and snacks for the day. Cleanup supplies (trash bags & gloves) will be provided.
