Executive Director

Friends of Plumas Wilderness seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead our environmental conservation efforts. Guided by our Strategic Plan, the Executive Director will play a key role in regional public lands planning across the Plumas, Tahoe, and Lassen national forests, coordinating with multiple partners on large-scale landscape projects. The Executive Director will embody our commitment to advocacy, education, stewardship, and organizational health.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, oversee staff and programs, manage daily operations, and ensure financial health. This full-time role, based in Quincy, CA, involves local travel for staff and board meetings, community outreach, and events. Public Lands Program Manager

Friends of Plumas Wilderness seeks a dedicated Public Lands Program Manager to help lead regional land and water protection campaigns across the Upper Feather River Watershed. Guided by our Strategic Plan, this role advances conservation, advocacy, and stewardship priorities that support ecological resilience, protect biodiversity, and uplift community-centered values.

This part-time position is based in Quincy, CA, with flexible hours depending on project needs. The Public Lands Program Manager will work closely with staff, board members, volunteers, and partners—including Tribal organizations, public agencies, and fellow nonprofits—to implement policy strategies, cultivate collaborative initiatives, and support on-the-ground stewardship.

We’re looking for someone who brings policy fluency, strong communication skills, and a deep conservation ethic. A successful candidate will be adaptable and collaborative. From defending roadless areas to advancing Wild & Scenic River protections, this role is central to shaping long-term public lands conservation outcomes in the Upper Feather River Watershed
